Martha Coates Martha was born, reared and graduated
from high school in Halifax County. After graduating from Mary
Washington College, she relocated to the New York City area, finally
settling in Irvington. In the mids-90s, she retired from her
responsibilities in the Child Protective Services field, and soon
returned to Halifax. Martha then continued her studies in history at
Randolph-Macon and at UNC Greensboro, plus indulging in her yen for
travel. Her interest in fine arts arises from these activities and her
desire to enrich the civic and cultural life of Halifax County where she
has been active in various organizations, has served on the board of the
local museum, and currently sits on the Library Board. |
